Students enrolling in college in fall 2016 now have the opportunity (as of April 1) to request final amateurism certification for each sport they plan to participate in. Prior to the final amateurism request, please remind your fall enrollees of the following:
  • Be sure information in the registration is accurate (i.e., email, date of birth, enrollment period);
  • Be sure to enter all sports that need an amateurism certification;
  • Be sure to enter any previous colleges or universities attended (under the education tab); and
  • Be sure to complete all tasks (especially academic).

The NCAA Eligibility Center is in search of four high school administrators to serve as members of the NCAA High School Advisory Group.  The purpose of the Advisory Group is to review new processes and/or procedures, as well as discuss and obtain valuable ideas, opinions and feedback on ways that the NCAA Eligibility Center can improve its service to the high school community. Over the past two years, the High School Advisory Group has helped implement the Get the Word Out Grant program, provided feedback to improve many of our resources for high schools, as well as help shape new processes through the High School Portal such as uploading high school transcripts.

To apply, please submit a resume and a 500-word statement regarding why you would like to become a member of the Advisory Group to ec-clientrelations@ncaa.org. Entries must be submitted by Friday, April 29, 2016.  Late entries will not be considered. Participation in the Advisory Group is a two-year commitment, and will require you to participate in monthly teleconferences during the academic year.

As we continue our efforts to increase communication with high school administrators, the NCAA Eligibility Center will begin informing high school primary and secondary contacts of new updates. In the coming weeks, contacts will begin receiving an email notification when a new High School Portal Announcement is posted. We hope that this feature helps to increase awareness in the high school community concerning the NCAA registration and certification process for college-bound student-athletes.
