Welcome, international student!

When you created your NCAA Eligibility Center account, you told us you attended secondary school in Canada. We are writing to assure you that we are familiar with your education system and to help you understand the information we need to complete your certification. 

We need official academic documents to establish your expected date of graduation and to evaluate your academic performance according to NCAA initial eligibility standards. Here are a few recommendations to get you started: 

• For non-Quebec Canadian students, ask your provincial ministry of education to submit official copies of your transcripts for years nine and up. In some provinces, year nine occurs in middle school and a separate ninth grade transcript may be submitted by that school directly to the NCAA Eligibility Center. 
• For Quebec students, ask your secondary school to submit an official copy of your school-issued Secondary 3 report card. Furthermore, please have your ministry of education submit official copies of your Relevé de Note (which should include Secondary IV and V results), as well as the Diplôme d’Études Secondaires/DES. If you plan to attend a CEGEP program, a CEGEP-issued transcript must also be submitted by the school.
  • ​If your documents are issued in a language other than English, please submit certified line-by-line English translations of these documents.
• Each Canadian province has a list of NCAA-approved core courses, developed in conjunction with the provincial ministry of education. Individual secondary schools (public and private) do not need to be reviewed. Review the Canadian High School Codes document for more information on a list of approved courses and province-specific information. 
• Take the ACT or SAT before your first full-time collegiate enrollment and ask the ACT or SAT to send your scores to the NCAA Eligibility Center using code 9999. 
  • If you are transferring to an NCAA school from another college, ask the athletics compliance office at your new school if they require test score submission.
