Did You Know?


The following are the latest updates in Division III:

 

Institute for Administrative Advancement.  During the May Regional Rules Seminar held in Indianapolis, Division III successfully held the fifth annual Institute.  The Institute provided a day and a half of professional development programming for 20 Division III mid-level administrators of color.  The participants heard from

 current athletics directors on topics such as leadership, mentoring, work-life integration, and preparing for the next career move.  Next year's Institute will be held in conjunction with the 2018 Regional Rules Seminar, Atlanta, Georgia, June 4-6.  


Career Next Steps.  Prior to the NCAA Career in Sports Forum held in Indianapolis, Division III successfully held the inaugural Career Next Steps program.  The program provided a day and a half of professional development programming for 18 minority students who

previously participated in the Division III Student Immersion Program.  Participants explored potential careers in college sports with an emphasis on Division III.  Next year's program will be held in conjunction with the 2018 Career in Sports Forum in Indianapolis.

What were your key takeaways from the DIII Institute for Administrative Advancement? It is pivotal to maintain and continue  to develop relationships in this business. 


What advice would you give someone seeking a career in Division III athletics?  My advice is to embrace it all.  You will have the pleasure of coaching student-athletes who love the game.  You will constantly have the opportunity to learn and grown within your school's community by undertaking a million different tasks.

Division III Committee Vacancies.  Interested in serving on an NCAA committee?  Check out the current openings and click here for the nomination form.

2018 Student Immersion Program.  The 2018 Student Immersion Program will be accepting applications from Aug. 15 to Sept. 30 via Program Hub.   Ethnic minority students interested in a career in Division III athletics are encourage to apply.  Division III will fund the travel and lodging for 40 students to attend the 2018 NCAA Convention in Indianapolis.
