INSIDE PERSPECTIVE

We asked Tommy Verdell the associate athletics director at Williams College a few questions.

What have been your keys to success? There’s no doubt in my mind that having great mentors, who have all been exceptional human beings, has made the most impact on my career in athletics.

How do you balance work and family? Very intentionally! It all starts with one’s mindset. First and foremost I’m not striving for balance, I am focusing on creating integration.

What fuels your passion to develop and mentor student-athletes? I realize that I am first and foremost an educator, leader, and even more importantly, a role-model for all student-athletes.
