New Amateurism Certification Tasks

To better align processes and reduce the occurrence of undeliverable or ignored requests, Eligibility Center staff will no longer send emails requesting information for a PSA’s amateurism certification. Effective immediately, should additional information from the PSA, their club team, previous college or NCAA member institution be needed, a task will be assigned in the PSA’s account. For more information on how these tasks will be assigned, click here.

PSA Monitoring Enhancements

In an effort to help schools identify when a PSA has an open task, we have made some changes to reports and tracking mechanisms that can be accessed in the MI Portal under “Additional Reports.” You can learn about each new monitoring enhancement here.

New Matriculation Letter

The Eligibility Center has updated the Matriculation Letter, which can be found here. The new letter is now a fillable PDF that will allow for an electronic signature--no more printing out and scanning!

Other changes include:
  • Signature requirements: Signees will now attest to a statement indicating they are not employed SOLELY by an athletics department.
  • Only one date section to complete: Removes the confusion due to two separate sections of potential information in the last version of the form.
  • Revisions: The new form requires users to fill out an explanation and provide documentation if they are submitting a revised matriculation form.
  • Bylaws: All relevant bylaws are listed..
As a reminder, the matriculation letter is assigned in the PSA's account for one of the following reasons:
  • Standardized test scores earned post-high school graduation.
  • High school credit earned post-high school graduation.
  • GED diploma earned post core-course time limitation.
  • Delayed enrollment concerns.
  • Post-enrollment amateurism conditions.

Membership Inquiries Related to Account Status

The Eligibility Center has seen a spike in account status inquiries from the membership to ec-processing@ncaa.org and acp-processing@ncaa.org. Please note: These two email boxes are reserved for account processing actions such as task responses, requests for documentation or other correspondence. Status request sent to these mailboxes slow down our operations resulting in processing delays or interruptions and will delay you receiving a response. Account status question should be directed to the Eligibility Center’s Customer Service Staff.
  • Domestic PSAs: Emails may be directed to ecinfo@ncaa.org or by calling 877-544-2950 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Eastern. Please remember to include the student’s name and ID# in the subject line.
  • International PSAs: Emails may be directed to ec-international@ncaa.org or by calling 877-544-2950 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Eastern. When calling, be sure to select "International Account" from the listed options. When emailing, please remember to include the student’s name and ID# in the subject line. As a reminder, Canadian accounts (except Quebec) are supported by the domestic team.
  • All PSAs: Use the “Contact Us” feature on the Membership Portal. As a reminder, this feature does not provide the ID of the student you may have been reviewing, or your name and university. Please provide your contact information in the body of the message.

Final Amateurism Certification Reminder for Students

PSAs enrolling full time at an NCAA Division I or II college or university in Fall 2019 may request their final amateurism certification starting April 1.

To request final amateurism, PSAs should log in to their Certification Account at eligibilitycenter.org and:
  • Review their added sports and answers to Sports Questions.
  • Check their graduation and enrollment dates and update if necessary.
  • Review any open tasks and complete necessary information.

Summer Basketball Events

The NCAA is certifying scholastic boys’ basketball events in the month of June. Basketball players interested in developing their skills and showcasing their talent in front of Division I college coaches will have the opportunity to do so. These students will be required to provide their NCAA ID number when they register. They can obtain an NCAA ID by registering for a free Profile Page account or a Certification account on eligibilitycenter.org. More information can be found on the National Federation of High Schools website here.

The NCAA is also hosting a new developmental boys basketball academy for prospects in the classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022. The academy is designed to give prospective student-athletes a taste of the college basketball experience. The camps will take place in July at four different venues across the country: Grand Canyon University, University of Houston, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and University of Connecticut. Up to 2400 prospects will be chosen for the camps and prospects can nominate themselves to be selected for the camp in their Eligibility Center accounts. Any questions on the nomination process and criteria for selection can be sent to collegebasketballacademy@ncaa.org or visit their website.
